Dr. Hezri Adnan

Dr. Hezri Adnan is a distinguished Malaysian expert in sustainable development, with a focus on environmental policy, sustainable development goals, and natural resource management. His extensive work encompasses the nexus of energy, water, and food, as well as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He has held prominent positions, including serving as the Executive Director of the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research and CEO of the Langkawi Development Authority. Dr. Hezri has also contributed to international organizations, such as the United Nations' International Resource Panel, and has authored over 100 publications on various aspects of sustainable development.

In his current role as Director of Group Sustainability at Bursa Malaysia, Dr. Hezri is actively involved in integrating sustainability practices within the corporate sector. His recent writings, including an article in The Edge Malaysia Weekly, address the challenges of climate change and emphasize the importance of collaborative efforts in promoting sustainability. Additionally, his book, The Sustainability Shift: Refashioning Malaysia's Future, discusses environmental degradation, climate change, and the need for institutional reforms to achieve sustainability.

While Dr. Hezri's work significantly intersects with climate change, his prominence is particularly notable within Malaysia and the Southeast Asian region, where he has been instrumental in shaping sustainability policies and practices. Internationally, his recognition stems from his contributions to sustainable development and environmental policy, areas closely related to climate change.
