Sustainability Learning Program - group forum

Public·244 Participants

Thank you, @Davis Chong for bringing us up to speed on the developments in Renewable Energy at Session 5 of our learning program today. Davis debunked the myth that switching to solar is expensive, and that we can expect very short payback periods on investment. It is encouraging that the government is supporting this transition through generous tax incentives - but we need to act quick before the Investment Tax Allowance expires on 31/12/23. Also encouraging that many credit companies are offering interest-free funding for individuals. Hopefully we shall see further assistance extended to individuals in the near future, either through government incentives or leasing programs.

Here is the deck that Davis shared with us today. The recording of the session will be posted to our YouTube channel by tomorrow morning: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyRsJW2gvmdOoK3eAteazw3EZLcWMgnt3

Thank you for joining us at the Energy Efficiency session today.

@ZAINI4EEdotCOM Channel shared with us a number of opportunities we can take action on immediately, but the keys to enduring success are:

1) Commitment from the top

2) Holistic energy management (involves everyone in the organisation) that is systemic and sustainable

3) Measuring our baselines, setting targets, monitoring results for continuous improvement.

Here are the slides that @ZAINI4EEdotCOM Channel shared. Also uploaded into the participants' materials here.

Are there any more sessions in April? How do I enrol?

Thank you so much for making the time today to join our 1st session of the Sustainability Learning Series. We hope you enjoyed it and that you found the session useful.

We apologise for the issues with accessing the Group Forum - we have made some changes on the settings, and it appears that many of you have managed to get in; for the rest we are manually adding the members in, and we hope to have this completed by tomorrow.

The Sustainability Toolkit and the presentation can be accessed from this folder. If you have any questions as you start using this toolkit, please feel free to pose your questions in this forum - and we can all help each other through the process.

We will share the link to webinar recording once it has been uploaded to our YouTube channel.

Our learning program launches tomorrow at 12:30pm. The agenda for the 7 learning sessions can be found in this link, and you can read more about the program facilitators here.

See you at Sustainability 101 tomorrow!

At our program kick-off on Wednesday 30th March @ 12:30pm, Razif Yusoff will share with us what is meant by being Sustainable, and why it is important.

@sharif.james will then take you through a Sustainability Toolkit that you can use to help you manage and monitor your sustainability journey. You can download the toolkit here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1obwGLnjb5DTe4OPeywnyvAhKmPc7eCX4/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=101975788665251694455&rtpof=true&sd=true

It might look a little scary, but don't worry ..... join us on Wednesday and @sharif.james will help demystify this for you.

Our learning program starts in a week - look forward to seeing everyone there! For some background reading ahead, take a look at this deck created by the Carbon Trust: https://prod-drupal-files.storage.googleapis.com/documents/resource/public/SMEs-Net-Zero-Guidance-Document.pdf

If you have specific questions that you would like addressed during the learning sessions, do feel free to post your questions in this forum. For topics of high-level interest, we will do our best to incorporate these during the learning sessions, but otherwise we will plan to discuss it within this group forum.

We hope you will find the learning sessions valuable!
